The New Face of American Beer

With the Great American Beer Company being gobbled up by Europeans and the #2 now being South African, where can we find a true American Beer? Beer lovers have a lot of options available to them.

Boston Beer Company offers a wide variety beers, everything from their flag ship Boston Lager to their one of a kind Utopias. There is a beer to satisfy every pallet. My personal favorite is the Black Lager, it offers a clean crisp taste of a lager with the hint of smokiness, it is great accompaniment for dinner of stew or pot roast on a cold winter afternoon.

Yuengling Brewers of Pottsville, PA is the oldest family run brewery in the United States and offers a selection of seven fine brews, running from the smoothness of their Premium Pilsner to its bold and satisfying Black & Tan.

Anchor Brewing of San Francisco is the West Coasts entry into the Mega-Micro Brewing business. Their selection of Ale's offers beer drinks a change from the traditional lagers of most beer drinkers, while their full bodied Porter can stand by itself as a meal.

As this blog grows, I invite you to share you ideas on micro brews, including recommendations and reviews. I look forward to seeing the community grow.
